ESIC:
ESIC has decided to extend the ESI Scheme to the construction site workers deployed in the implemented areas w.e.f 01.08.2015. The Regional Directors / Director / Joint Director I/c are advised to undertake measures to register all the construction agencies and arrange list of other construction agencies covered under EPF and/or paying cess towards Construction Workers’ Welfare Board and the construction workers registered for benefit under Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Act, 1996 be obtained and surveyed. During surveys, the details of workers with their Aadhar Card Number, RSBY Cards and BOCW Act Registration Number may also be captured to the extent available.
DVAT:
Delhi Government has made amendments to Delhi Value Added Tax Act, 2004. This notification shall come into force with effect from 1st August, 2015. Amendments are made in the Third Schedule appended to the Delhi Value Added Tax Act, 2004 to revise the rate of VAT on all utensils and cutlery items made of metals (including pressure cookers/pans) except those made of precious metals, Wax and Wood & Timber. The rate VAT is reduced from 12.5% to 5% on these 3 items.
