MCA – CCI:
MCA has exempted enterprises from the provisions of Section 5 of the Competition Act, 2002, whose control, shares, voting rights or assets are being acquired, has either assets of the value of not more than Rupees Three Hundred and Fifty Crores in India or turnover of not more than Rupees One Thousand Crores inIndia, for a period of five years from the date of publication of the notification in the official gazette. Section 5 of the said Act lists the types of acquisition of enterprises by persons or merger or amalgamation of enterprises to be regarded as a combination under the Act and regulation provisions of the said combinations.
Labour Laws – EPF:
The Ministry for Labour & Employment is launching a common registration facility on e-biz portal which will enable employers to avoid filing separate EPF and ESI returns w.e.f March 09, 2016. The ministry has decided to integrate the registration process under five Labour Acts, that is, Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970, Building and Other Construction workers (Regulation of Employment & Conditions of Service) Act, 1996 and Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment & Condition of Services) Act, 1979 with the e-biz portal of the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) so that various registrations required by a unit can be obtained through a single window.
