MCA has made further amendment in the provisions relating to Corporate Social Responsibility by amending Schedule VII of Companies Act, 2013. In Schedule VII, after item (x), new item and entry has been inserted, namely (xi) slum area development. Further for the purposes of this item, the term ‘Slum area’ shall mean any area declared as such by the Central Government or any competent authority under any law for the time being in force.”
DELHI VAT
Filing of online DVAT Returns for 1st quarter of 2014-15 is again extended by Commissioner, Value Added Tax. Now the last date of filing of online/hard copy of first quarter return for the year 2014-15, in Form DVAT-16, DVAT-17 and DVAT-48 along with required annexure/enclosures is extended upto 19/08/2014. However, the tax due shall continue to be paid in the usual manner as per the provisions of section 3(4) of the Delhi Value Added Tax Act, 2004. The dealers filing the returns through digital signature need not be required to file hard copy of the return/Form DVAT-56.

The Research & Publication Committee of NIRC – ICSI, with an objective of giving an opportunity to members to showcase their research work has organized Research Paper Competition 2014. The result of the competition has been declared and the awards will be distributed to the winners and participation certificates will be distributed to the other participative members of the competition in any of the forthcoming program of the NIRC of ICSI.
