Corporate Updates – 14-11-2014

Indian Registration Act:

Delhi Government has issued Guidelines to all Sub Registrar Offices under Section 69 of Indian Registration Act to provide effective and efficient registration services to the public. All Sub Registrars are directed to ensure strict compliance of all statutes and circulars / orders issued by the Revenue Department. These guidelines are self explanatory with respect to the procedure followed and verification of documents by the Sub Registrar at the time of registration of document.

RBI:

Seeing to the increase in number of cheque related fraud cases RBI has issued procedural guidelines /preventive measures that need to be followed by the Co-operative Banks. Such Banks are, therefore, advised to review and strengthen the controls in the cheque presenting/passing and account monitoring processes and to ensure that all procedural guidelines including preventive measures are followed meticulously. However the list so issued is only indicative and the threshold limits so mentioned is can be reduced or increased at a later stage with the approval of the Board depending on the volume of cheques handled by the UCBs or it’s risk appetite.
